I never get tired of the view of western Oklahoma. The span west of El Reno to Weatherford, off to the north, is so gorgeous and this morning was no exception. The red of the dirt freshly moistened accentuated the greens of the trees and the lay of the land. I always get a little nostalgic as I travel this part of the country, as my mind travels back to Hammon, OK grandad Turners farm, drums from the reservation, stars, and wide open spaces. I feel a little kinship to the land as I think about my ancestors, the Cherokee people and my granddads people who once walked this land.
